Luxbaum Windows + Doors Impact Resistant Folding Door System Nominated for Window and Door Magazine's 2009 Crystal Achievement Awards
June 10, 2009
Luxbaum Windows + Doors announced today that its Impact Resistant Folding Door System was nominated for Window and Door Magazine’s Crystal Achievement Awards. The annual awards from Window & Door honor outstanding achievements in window and door product technology, manufacturing and marketing. Luxbaum’s Folding Door System was nominated for a Crystal Achievement Award in the “Most Innovative Door – Small/Medium Manufacturer” category.
Laszlo Wagner, Luxbaum’s President, commented, “We are honored and excited to be nominated for a Crystal Achievement Award. Our Folding Door System is a significant expansion of our product line that we are very proud of. We can create door systems that range from 3 to 16 door panels, with a maximum height of over 10 feet and a maximum width of over 48 feet, all while passing Miami Dade County’s impact resistance tests. In fact, our folding door system is the first wood system to pass Miami Dade County’s water resistance test. We also believe that our Folding Door System represents a truly innovative solution in that it is an impact resistant folding door system that operates without surface mounted bolts, which can be awkward and less than architecturally appealing."
Jason Love, Luxbaum’s Vice President, added, “As with all of our products, the folding door system is made from merbau wood and incorporates our multi-point locking system and European style overlay sash. When installed, the Folding Door System doubles as highly functional impact resistant door system and an architecturally coordinated, furniture-like, decorative wall.”
